..... Yes they were always POUPART de NEUFLIZE, at least they were on the etat
civil. There is some controversy over whether the Pouparts ever were ennobled
- They were rich enough to purchase the "barony of Neuflize", which gave them
the right to call themselves Baron, but whether they were ever invested with
the tile and predicate of the noblesse is a moot point.
I also have a copy of the Dictionnaire des familles nobles et subsistantes de
la suisse by Benoit de diesbach de Belleroche- I'll send you a photocopy of
your family's insertion.
