Nicholas HAILE II ⁽¹²²⁵⁾ was born about 1680. ⁽¹²²⁶⁾ He executed a will on Feb 27 1729/30. ⁽¹²²⁷⁾ Lived on land called "Haile's Fellowship," mentions plantation "Part of Merryman's Lot," plantation called "Haile's Addition," "Mount Pleasant," and "Haile's Folly." Mentions wife Francis and children Nicholas, George, Neale, Mary, Hannah, Ann, Millisant, and Subbiner [no mention of Henry]. Witnessed by John Merryman, Sr., Johannah Merryman and Francis Hinckley. He died on Mar 20 1730 in MD.⁽¹²²⁸⁾ Cindy Hale <http://members.aol.com/haleroots/index.html> has Nicholas' Haile's parents as Nicholas Haile and (possibly) Travers; so does John P. Hammett. He was married to Frances GARRETT about 1703 in Baltimore Co. MD.⁽¹²²⁹⁾

449. Frances GARRETT was born between 1670 and 1680 in Northumberland Co. MD.⁽¹²³⁰⁾ She died about 1730.⁽¹²³¹⁾ Steven Pfeiffer has her as "Frances Broad.." Per Cindy Hale, Francis may have been using the surname of her step-father (Broad) at the time of her marriage to Nicholas Haile -- 6/25/1999 post to HALE-L@rootsweb. Children were:

i. Mary HAILE was born on Jan 31 1701/2.⁽¹²³²⁾
ii. Nicholas HAILE III⁽¹²³³⁾ was born about 1702 in Haile's Fellowship, Baltimore Co. MD. ^(1234)(1235) He was elected/appointed Justice (Halifax Co. VA) in 1752. He died before 1763 in VA. ^(1236)(1237) Luneburg or Bedford Co. VA. He was Anglican (Episcopalian). ⁽¹²³⁸⁾ One of the original four vestrymen involved in building St. Thomas in Baltimore. Nicholas and the other three were empowered by an Act of the Assembly to purchase land and erect a "chapel of ease" for the inhabitants of St. Paul's Parish who lived in the forest. The new church became known as St. Thomas' Church. He Moved to: Bucks Co. PA; Bedford Co. VA; Lunenberg Co. VA; Halifax Co. VA. -The births of all of Nicholas and Ann's children were recorded at St. Paul's Parish Church, Baltimore MD, near their residence.

vii. George HALE was born about 1712 in Haile's Fellowship, Baltimore Co. MD. ⁽¹²⁴²⁾ He died before May 2 1791 in Baltimore Co. MD.⁽¹²⁴³⁾
viii. Sabina HAILE was born about 1714.⁽¹²⁴⁴⁾
ix. Anne HAILE was born about 1716 in Baltimore Co. MD. ⁽¹²⁴⁵⁾
x. Neale HALE was born on Dec 20 1718.⁽¹²⁴⁶⁾ He died in 1796.⁽¹²⁴⁷⁾
xi. Henry HALE was born on Mar 5 1720/21.^{(1248) (1249)}
