-The marriage to Nancy is a "possible." Source (Faye Cram) has not been able to confirm it. He was married to Margaret Ann "Peggy" GIFFORD on Jun 5 1834 in Garrard Co. KY.(425)

61. Margaret Ann "Peggy" GIFFORD was born about 1816.(426) Parentage probable. Children were:

child i. Louisa WEARREN was born about 1835.(427)
child ii. Ashley B. WARREN was born about 1836/37 in Garrard Co. KY. (428) He died on Nov 20 1863 or Apr 8 1864 in Washington Co. KY. (429) He served in the military Civil War in Union Cavalry.(430) -Served in the same regiment and company as his brother, Enoch. They enlisted in the 8th Ky. Volunteer Cavalry, Co. F, on Aug 5, 1862, and were mustered in at Russellville KY on Sep 8, 1862. They were mustered out on Sep 17, 1863 at Lebanon KY.

-Faye Cram has a copy of a letter by Ashley's 2nd Lieutenant that states he was in a "charge upon some Rebels in Cheatham Co. Tenn, when his horse fell falling on him and injuring him in the chest and other body parts of which he did not recover." Faye also has a copy of a letter written by his brother Griffen that states in part that he was with Ashley in Washington Co when he died "on about the 8th of April of 1864."
