38. Sampson WICKERSHAM Jr.⁽²³⁷⁾⁽²³⁸⁾ was born on Oct 28 1809 in Mercer Co. KY.⁽²³⁹⁾⁽²⁴⁰⁾ He was a Farmer in 1850.⁽²⁴¹⁾ He died on Jul 5 1879 in Mercer Co. KY.⁽²⁴²⁾⁽²⁴³⁾ -Per Scott Williams, Samson Jr. had three wives -- at this point, it is uncertain which mother(s) at least some of his children belong to. Margaret Martin was his second wife, and Elizabeth was born 2 years before Sampson's marriage to her.
--Appointed guardian for his sister-in-law's (Nancy Martin Sallee's) infant children, Mercer County Court, March 1853 term. He was married to Margaret MARTIN on Dec 20 1834 in Mercer Co. KY.⁽²⁴⁴⁾⁽²⁴⁵⁾

39. Margaret MARTIN was born about 1812 in KY.⁽²⁴⁶⁾ -Not proved. 1850 Mercer Co. census shows Sampson as married to Margaret. His sister-in-law was Nancy Martin Sallee. Children were:

19 i. Mahala J. "Mag" "Mary" WICKERSHAM.
ii. John H. WICKERSHAM was born about 1836 in Mercer Co. KY.⁽²⁴⁷⁾⁽²⁴⁸⁾
iii. William WICKERSHAM was born about 1840 in KY.⁽²⁴⁹⁾
iv. Sampson WICKERSHAM.
v. Mary Catherine "Kate" WICKERSHAM was born on Dec 3 1841 in Mercer Co. KY.⁽²⁵⁰⁾⁽²⁵¹⁾ She died in 1922 in Fairfield IA.⁽²⁵²⁾ Died at her daughter's house. -POC on this line is Scott R. Williams. I believe, but am not certain that we have firmly established Mary's parentage.
vi. Eliza WICKERSHAM.
vii. Luretta WICKERSHAM was born about 1845 in KY.⁽²⁵³⁾⁽²⁵⁴⁾ Spelled "Juretta" in 1850 census.
viii. Daniel WICKERSHAM was born about 1846 in KY.⁽²⁵⁵⁾⁽²⁵⁶⁾
ix. Othello WICKERSHAM was born about 1849 in KY.⁽²⁵⁷⁾
x. Joseph H. WICKERSHAM was born in Jun 1856 in Mercer Co. KY.⁽²⁵⁸⁾
