Their [Louisa and Lucius] parents were Dempsey J. Justice and Temperanc e (Tempy) (Lester) Justice, who were married in Jones Co., GA on Februa ry 14, 1828. They were a prosperous plantation family, with Dempsey dea ling in land speculations. He was also a Colonel in the Georgia Militia .
After the presidential election of 1839, Dempsey and his friend John Dr aper had gone to Pond Town (Ellaville today), GA. For reasons which we d o not know, Dempsey took the life of his friend. Following the incident , he spent the next several years in and out of prison, until he was fi nally pardoned in 1849.

Dee,
Thanks so much for checking for me. I thought that there was just a cha nce. Have copies of service cards (1812) for Levi, then my next record f or him is 1827 and I pretty well have him covered from then through to h is death in Al. I'll just have to keep checking on him. Can I ask for h elp one more time? As you so kindly looked at so many records, did you n otice anything for Dempsey Justice? Dempsey was the father of Levi and I k now he was granted land in Ga. for revolutionary war service, 1784, and h ad a son, also named Dempsey J. Justice who was half brother to Levi.
Levi is believed to be the GGGgrandfather of my husband.
Once again, many thanks.
Pearl (in Ca.)..

Pearl,
I'm so sorry but I can't find Levi in anything. There are a number of J ustices. I checked Gone to Georgia because Justices came from both Nort h Carolina and South Carolina. I also checked all the death records for G eorgia that I have plus lottery records. I can't find a thing on him.
