James I at Whitechapel, 19 July 1609. Created 1st Baronet, 20 Dec ember 1622).
Born 21 and bpt. 29 March 1589. High Sheriff and Commissioner for A rray for Leicester.
A Royalist whose estate at Prestwold was confiscated by the Commo nwealth after the Civil
War. The estate was purchased by Christopher Packe whose descenda nts still live at
Prestwold Hall. Sir Henry died c. 1663.
+ (1st wife) Amy, 3rd daughter of Sir Thomas Kempe of Chilham, Ke nt. Born 6 August 1591.
Buried at Prestwold 7 Sept. 1631.

1. William Skipwith: Born 24 Feb and bpt. 10 March 1613. Died un married before his father.
2. Sir Henry Skipwith (2nd Baronet): Born 16 Sept and bpt. 21 Se pt 1615. Died soon after his
father.
3. Elizabeth Skipwith: Born 6 Oct and bpt. 24 Oct 1617.
4. Thomas Skipwith: Born 9 March and bpt. 5 March 1619. Died wit hout issue.
5. Diana Skipwith: Born 27 May and bpt. 13 June 1621. Said to ha ve married Major Edward
Dale and emigrated to Virginia after the Civil War. Edward D ale died 20 February 1695.
6. Sir Grey Skipwith (3rd Baronet): Heir to his father. Bpt. 1 F eb 1622. Emigrated to Middlesex
County, Virginia, after the Civil War (see 19 below)
