John Ferguson married Margaret Douglas, daughter of Archibald Douglas, t he "Earl of Angus", and "Mary Queen of Scotts" (A second marriage).Mary " Queen of Scotts" was the sister of Henry the VIII, King of England.
Margaret Douglas the daughter, had an affair with the son of Thomas How ard "The Second Duke of Norfolk", and second wife Agnes Tilney....also a s econd Thomas, and nontitled.(First wife Elizabeth Tilney, and 2nd Duke o f Norfolk had a son Thomas that became 3rd Duke)
Margaret Douglas and second son Thomas had a son Robert "Douglas" (Howa rd), out of wed-lock, and was sent to live with relatives till maturity ....He eventually grew up and took his real name Howard, and married Ph illipa Buxton, and is a granddad of mine.....Thomas and Phillipa had a J ohn who married Elizabeth Lock...Had a son Francis who married Mary War ren....who were the parents of James Obadiah Howard and his son James w ho came to America in 1656 and James the son married a gal on the boat, S arah Titus d. of Thomas Titus, and they eventually moved to Bertie Co. N .C....Their next to youngest came to Onslow and was married to Frances D enson,A Quaker Lady of Virginia", and eldest son to today Topsail Sound i n 1762 James, a major of the Revolution, and married to Hester Moore... .father of my James Whitfield, and Mary Leith, who had my great grandad dy Lewis Whitfield Howard...veteran and wounded in the battle of Peters burg in virginia....etc....My grandfather was Bernard Howard, and Dad w as Roland Bernard, ......Eliza Lenora Smithwick, and Opal Louise Reeves t heir wives.....But you see....I am kin to the Fergusons and Howards thr u Margaret Douglas (Princess of Scotland)....Ohh, incdently, Thomas the g randaddy back lost his head, as Henry put him in the "Tower of London", o n the charge of ....Treason????

The mother of Margaret Douglas was the only sibling of Henry The VIII o f England, and Queen of Scotland for a time, and eventually her decende nt King James IV became James I of England......Margaret (Tutor) then a t the death of her husband the King of Scotland, married Archibald Doug las, Earl of Angus, and they had the daughter Margaret Douglas, who had t he affair with my Howard ancestry, The Duke of Norfolk II`s and second w ife Agnes Tilney`s non-titled son (also) Thomas Howard, and 9th child.. .had a son named Robert Douglas (Howard)....had sent him off to "Brockd ish, England" to live with relatives until maturity....He did take the n ame of Howard later, and later married Phillipa Buxton....had a son Joh n Howard who married Elizabeth Lock....had a son Francis Howard, who ma rried Mary Warren.....had a son James Obadiah from around Norwich Engla nd to Virginia, with his eldest son James, who married later (Sarah Tit us, with her father too) a little gal on the boat (1656)....and later m oved to Bertie Co. NC....and next to youngest son John Howard who came t o Onslow, and had married "A Quaker Lady of Elizabethj City , Virginia" ....and their oldest son James Howard, who married Hester Moore had com e to Topsail Sound , on Fredericks Creek in 1762....His third child and m y grandpa, James Whitfield had married Mary Leith, and their second son , and my great granddad, Lewis Whitfield married Rachel Mallard, after t he Civil war. He was a Lt.and wounded at Petersburg...had the oldest so n and child Bernard Howard, and my grandfather...He married Eliza Lenor a Smithwick, of around Vanceboro, N.C. in Craven Co. ....Dad was the se cond Child ...Roland Bernard Howard who married mother Opal Louise Reev es of Lake Junaluska May 14th 1932 as she came to Hampstead to teach at t he consolidated school Topsail School in 1931.... I am Roland Jack Howa rd of Hampstead, where I grew up....and upon retirement....came back ho me...
Many, Many great memories growing up during time spent in those , "My M ountain Of Memories" also....at Grandmother Sarah Elizabeth Queen, Reev es`s home.........
