128. James Callender Adams was born on 14 Apr 1737 in Sheffield, Berkshire Co., MA. He died in 1813 in Newport, Orleans Co., VT. He resided in Springfield, MA. and St. Johnsbury, VT. According to
family records it is said that he served with Rogers Rangers during
the French and Indian War. His service during the Revolutionary War,
is more clearly documented. He was married to Submit Purchase on 27 Jan 1762 in Springfield, Hampden Co., MA. She was the daughter of Jonathan and Margaret Worthington Purchase who
resided in Springfield, MA.

129. Submit Purchase was born on 22 Jan 1735 in Somers, Tolland Co., CT.. The year of her birth may actually have been 1736. She died on 18 Nov 1797 in Waterford, VT. Children were:

i. Martin Adams was born on 5 Feb 1764 in Canaan, Litchfield Co., CT. He died on 8 Aug 1839 in Newport, Orleans Co., VT.

iii. Thirza Adams was born on 29 Sep 1767 in Canaan, Litchfield Co., CT.
iv. Clarissa Adams was born on 21 Jun 1769 in Springfield, Hampden Co., MA. She died on 7 Apr 1843 in Danville, VT..⁽²⁸⁾
v. James Callender Adams was born on 25 Jan 1771 in Springfield, Hampden Co., MA.
vi. Charles Adams was born on 13 Mar 1772/73 in Springfield, Hampden Co., MA.⁽²⁹⁾⁽³⁰⁾ He died on 19 Aug 1845 in Waterford, VT.⁽³¹⁾ He is buried at Adams-Babcock Cemetery, Waterford, VT.
