36. John Austin was born on 19 Jun 1793 in Fenton, Staffordshire, England. He died on 21 Sep 1842 in Cato, Cayuga Co., NY. He was married to Elizabeth Morelett between 1810 and 1813 in Fenton, Staffordshire, England. He and his family came to America from Fenton, Staffordshire, England in 1831. They lived for about 12 years in Jersey City, NJ, where John Austin worked as a potter, as that was his trade in England. In 1842 they moved to Cato, NY. Tradition has it that he had learned about the clay in that vicinity, and he intended to make pottery there. They bought a farm on the road between Jordan and Cato. His health was poor and he died at age 50. He and others in the family are buried in Crossman Cemetery.

37. Elizabeth Morelett was born on 19 Jun 1794 in Fenton, Staffordshire, England. She died on 22 Sep 1872 in Cato, Cayuga Co., NY. Children were:

v. Charles Austin was born on 3 Mar 1824 in Fenton, Staffordshire, England. He died on 8 Sep 1836 in Cato, Cayuga Co., NY.
vi. Mary Ann Austin was born on 19 Nov 1825 in Fenton, Staffordshire, England. She died on 9 Sep 1867.
vii. Julia Austin was born on 15 Mar 1828 in Fenton, Staffordshire, England. She died on 27 Jul 1931.
viii. Rachel Austin was born on 1 Jun 1830 in Fenton, Staffordshire, England. She died after 8 Jun 1888 in Central New York State.
ix. Catharine Austin was born on 25 May 1836 in Jersey City, Hudson Co., NJ. She died on 17 Oct 1858 in Cato, Cayuga Co., NY.
