44. Loammi Towner was born on 25 May 1797 in Goshen, Litchfield Co., CT. He died in 1853/54. When a small child he was taken by his father, Elijah Towner, to Lexington, NY, and lived there and in Jewett Township, NY until 1848. He then went to California where he died in 1853 or 1854. He was married to Amy Butts in 1823.

45. Amy Butts died on 21 Jan 1883. Children were:

child22 i. Horace A. Towner.
child ii. Reuben E. Towner was born in 1823 in Lexington, Greene Co., NY. He died est bef 1888.(17) He moved to Michigan, and later moved to Colorado where he died.
child iii. Marquis W. Towner was born on 11 Jan 1826 in Lexington, Greene Co., NY. He died after 1898.(17) He went west several times and returned, but after leaving Jewett, NY in 1889 he was never heard from again.
child iv. Rufus Mark Towner was born in 1823 in Lexington, Greene Co., NY. He died in 1830 in Lexington, Greene Co., NY.(17) He died from a drowning accident.
child v. Polly Towner was born on 23 Jan 1831 in Lexington, Greene Co., NY. She died est bef 1906 in Smoky Hollow, Columbia Co., NY. She was married to Huron Brandow.
child vi. Loammi Towner Jr. was born on 6 Feb 1833 in Lexington, Greene Co., NY. He died after 6 Feb 1833.
child vii. Charles W. Towner was born in 1837 in Lexington, Greene Co., NY. He died bet 1864/65.(17) He is said to have drowned in the Mississippi River while returning from the Civil War.
child viii. Phebe Ann Towner was born on 20 Sep 1839 in Lexington, Greene Co., NY. She died est bef 1914. She married a Jones and lived in Jewett Center, NY.
child ix. John Collins Towner was born on 17 Oct 1841 in Lexington, Greene Co., NY. He died est bef 1916.(17) He married Susan Slater, and lived in either Alabama or Florida.
child x. Virgil L. Towner was born on 18 Sep 1846 in Hunter, Greene Co., NY. He died on 3 Jul 1865 in Richmond, VA. At Kingston, NY he enlisted on October 4, 1864 at age 18 as a private in the Union Army. He served in K Co. 80th Infrantry Regiment of New York. He may have seen action at the battle of Petersburg, Virginia fought on April 2 and 3, 1864, and died of typhoid fever.
