9. Jane McDowell was born about 1750 in Cherry Valley, Northhampton Co., PA. She was baptized on 20 May 1750 in Stroudsburg, Monroe Co., PA. She died on 22 Mar 1815. ⁽³⁾

She was married to Elijah Shoemaker in 1769. Elijah Shoemaker was born between 1745 and 1750. He died on 8 Jul 1778 in Wyoming, where he was killed. Family tradition records him as the father of the Honorable D.C. Shoemaker. Jane McDowell and Elijah Shoemaker had the following children:

32 i. Susannah Shoemaker was born in 1775.⁽⁶⁾ She died between 1776 and 1860.⁽¹¹⁾
33 ii. Elijah R. Shoemaker was born in 1778. He died between 1779 and 1858. ⁽¹²⁾

She was married to Laban Blanchard after 1778. Laban Blanchard was born between 1745 and 1750. He died bef 1820 and 1825. Jane McDowell and Laban Blanchard had the following children:
