38. Joseph Alcott (1)(3) was born on 25 Aug 1765 in Waterbury, New Haven Co., CT. He died in 1806 in Auburn, Cayuga Co., NY.(3) Nothing is known of his earlier life or his removal from Connecticut. It seems likely that he lived in Saratoga County, New York in the 1790's. He was living at Aurelius (now Auburn), Cayuga Co., NY at the beginning of the nineteenth century, and his children were believed to have been born there between 1800 to 1804. There is a tradition that his health was poor and unable to work, he committed suicide by drowning in a well. His farm is said to be in the present city limits of Auburn, New York.
He was married to Lucy Stillwell between 1790 and 1799.

(1) was born on 7 Sep 1769 in Saratoga
Co., NY. She died on 13 Feb 1845 in Napoli, Cattaraugus Co., NY. Joseph Alcott
and Lucy Stillwell had the following children:

in Auburn, Cayuga Co., NY. He died between 1804 and 1884.
