34. Daniel Alcott ⁽¹⁾⁽³⁾ was born on 25 Mar 1738 in Waterbury, New Haven Co., CT. He died on 24 May 1805 in Colebrook, Litchfield Co., CT.

He was married to Elizabeth Dutton on 28 Jun 1759 in New Haven Co., CT. In 1777 he was in the service of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War at Peekskill, New York, from April 3 to May 15, in Captain Asa Bray's Company, Hooker's Regiment. After the war, and certainly by 1783, he was known as "Captain" though there is no evidence of military service in that rank. It may have been a militia title.

Daniel's home was in the part of Waterbury known as Spindle Hill, now the town of Wolcott. Residents of that part of the town, remote from the center, along with residents of a section of the adjacent Farmington, were organized in 1770 into a separate parish known as Farmingsbury. Farmingsbury Parish was incorporated as the town of Wolcott in 1796, but Daniel Alcott moved before that event. Around 1795, he moved from the old home some 25 miles northward to the new town of Colebrooke, Litchfield Co., CT, on the Massachusetts border. Daniel and his wife, Elizabeth, are recorded on December 31, 1795 as originals members of the Colebrooke Congregational Church. Elizabeth Dutton ⁽¹⁾ was born about 1740 in Waterbury, New Haven Co., CT. Daniel Alcott and Elizabeth Dutton had the following children:

39 v. Benjamin Alcott⁽¹⁾ was born about 1768 in Waterbury, New Haven Co., CT. He died between 1768 and 1848. ⁽¹⁵⁾
40 vi. Elizabeth Alcott⁽¹⁾ was born about 1770 in Waterbury, New Haven Co., CT. She died between 1770 and 1855. ⁽¹⁶⁾
