Richard Wayne Smith graduated from Galva High School, Galva, Illinois, with the clacc of 1927.
He attended Business Collage in Kansas City, Missour. When World War 2 started, he was inducted
into the U.S. Army at Camp Grant, Chucago, Illinois, then was sent overseas to the European Theater
of War. He was in the 1st Army, 3rd Armored Division, 703rd Tank Destroyer, Battilion, Head-quarters, Company. He in the service of his country from June 21, 1941 to October 6, 1945.
For several years after his return from service he was employed by the Trans-Arabian Pipe Line
Company as an accountant, residing in Beirut, Lebanon.
For a number of years he was employed by the S and S Motor Ford Company as a book-keeper in
Galva, Illinois.
