Sweat came to Salt Lake City Oct 3 1850 with the Edward Hunter Co.
!along with the Cluff family. They left for Provo the following

!Although George Hyrum and Emeline Mecham were sealed when married,
Emeline had ! the children all sealed to them again after the Salt
Lake Temple was ! dedicated. Others have also did the same sealing
again.

GEORGE HYRUM SWEAT--was born 23 July 1826 in Letter "B", Oxford, Maine to John and Mary Marston Sweat. His sister wrote in her history, "We lived near Andover in a sugar maple grove. The boys were taught to farm and make maple sugar...The Mormon Elders came ... They (the ones that were old enough) were baptized 15 Aug 1833...They gathered with the Saints at Kirtland, Ohio. They joined the Kirtland Camp and went to Missouri, and again driven from their home went to Nauvoo where they were personally acquainted with the Prophet. They were again driven from their home. George Hyrum married Lavina Cluff in Nauvoo. After leaving Nauvoo and before reaching Utah they were blessed with two babies, but each died and was buried on the way. His Mother and Father also each died before reaching Utah. He came (age 24) with his wife's parents, David and Betsey Hall Cluff. They came with the Edward Hunter Co. and arrived in Utah abt. 3 Oct 1850. They settled in Provo. On 21 Mar 1854 he married Emeline Mecham as a plural wife. In the early 1860's they moved to Heber Valley and settled in Center Creek area where they raised their large family. He was a farmer and woodsman, and made part of his living making shingles. He died 16 May 1897. He was married to Emeline MECHAM on 21 Mar 1854 in Provo, Utah, Utah. He was sealed to spouse on 21 Mar 1854 in the President's Office.

29. Emeline MECHAM was born on 6 Apr 1835 in Delaware, Mercer, Pa. She died on 5 Nov 1898 in Center Creek, Wasatch, Ut. She was buried in Heber Cem., Heber City, Utah. ! Emeline was also known as Julia Emeline ! George Hyrum Sweat and

EMELINE MECHAM SWEAT --was born 6 Apr 1837 at Delaware., Mercer, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Lewis Mecham and Lydia Wells. Her parents joined the Church the year she was born, and since they were such devote members, she also gained a testimony of the truthfulness of their messages. She came to Utah with her parents arriving in Utah 1851. At age 14 had to drive the oxen part of the way because the illness of her father and she was the oldest of the children. On the 21st of Mar, 1854 she married George Hyrum Sweat as a plural wife. They made their home in Heber valley. They had 11 children. Children were:

i. John Henry SWEAT was born on 1 Apr 1856 in Provo, Utah, Ut. He died on 15 Mar 1927. He was endowed on 24 Oct 1928 in the Salt Lake City, Utah LDS temple. He was sealed to parents BIC. He was baptized into the LDS church on 29 Jun 1971. Was baptized in 1867, but no day or month given so it was done again

iii. Joshua Josiah SWEAT was born on 7 Jul 1861 in Provo, Utah, Ut. He was baptized into the LDS church on 28 Jul 1877. He was endowed on 18 Jan 1883 in the Endowment House. He was sealed to parents BIC. He died on 24 Dec 1899.
iv. Erastus SWEAT was born in 1864 in Provo, Utah, Ut. He died on 20 Jun 1873. He was baptized into the LDS church on 25 Nov 1975. He was endowed on 24 Jan 1976. He was sealed to parents BIC. Provo Cem. Records
v. Lydia Ann SWEAT was born on 22 Apr 1866 in Center Creek, Wasatch, Ut. She was baptized into the LDS church on 15 Sep 1877. She was endowed on 22 Feb 1883. She was sealed to parents BIC. She died on 23 Jan 1921.
vi. Sarah Emeline SWEAT was born on 11 Jan 1869 in Provo, Utah, Ut. She was endowed on 25 Nov 1903 in the Salt Lake City, Utah LDS temple. She was sealed to parents BIC. She died on 25 Jan 1938. She was baptized into the LDS church on 29 Jun 1971. Family Rec had Sarah's baptism 1880, but no day or month so it was
done over.
vii. Brigham SWEAT was born on 22 May 1871 in Center Creek, Wasatch, Ut. He died on 12 Oct 1955. He was baptized into the LDS church on 5 May 1971. He was endowed on 27 May 1971 in the Salt Lake City, Utah LDS temple. He was sealed to parents BIC.
viii. Charles SWEAT was born on 27 Aug 1873 in Center Creek, Wasatch, Ut. He died on 4 Oct 1879. He was endowed CHILD. He was sealed to parents BIC. He was baptized into the LDS church CHILD.
ix. Albert SWEAT was born on 25 Feb 1877 in Center Creek, Wasatch, Ut. He was baptized into the LDS church on 18 Dec 1899. He was endowed on 24 Oct 1928. He was sealed to parents BIC. He died on 26 Feb 1946.
x. Joseph Wells SWEAT was born on 22 Nov 1879 in Center Creek, Wasatch, Ut. He was baptized into the LDS church on 11 Aug 1892. He was endowed on 22 Dec 1927. He was sealed to parents BIC. He died on 22 Apr 1961.
xi. Lucy Margaret SWEAT was born on 22 Nov 1879 in Center Creek, Wasatch, Ut. She was baptized into the LDS church on 11 Aug 1892. She died on 9 Mar 1943. She was endowed on 25 Sep 1944. She was sealed to parents BIC.
