Frederick Myers fled from his native country, Saxony, during the religious persecution of the seventeenth century and settled in Switzerland, according to the History of Venango County, PA (1890), p. 179. -- Linda Dill, 7/6/98.

George Myers's father was Frederick Myers, who, born in Saxony, fled his native land during the 17th century religious persecution of the Protestants. He went to Switzerland where his son George was born in 1730 or 1731. Nothing else is known of the parentage of George Myers. -- Gale Myers.

In 1806 Nancy Myers and her husband, Joseph Range, lived about three miles from the Myers homestead (the Myers Mill) in PA, and later moved to what became Crawford County, PA. [If this is true, it is more likely that Nancy was born about 1765 than a generation earlier in about 1740.] -- Myers Family Tree.
