Joseph Leonard Fiscus lived in Brookville until 1921 when he moved to Kane to work at Holgate Toys/Brush Handle, where he later met his wife, Mary Loretta (Laura) Dalton. Holgate subsequently went out of business, and Leonard tried carpentry, but lost money at that occupation. He then went to work for the Kane Dairy, where he still worked in 1948 when his daughter, Ruth, was married and maybe still in 1950 when his daughter, Rosella, was married. -- Ruth Fiscus

J. Leonard Fiscus was a member of St. Callistus Church, the Kane Council of the Knights of Columbus, and the Dads of Veterans, and served as the president of the Kane Eagles Lodge. -- Obituary

15. Mary Loretta (Laura) DALTON^{(37) (38)(39) (40)} was born on Aug 29 1891 in North Pine Grove (near Crown), PA. ⁽⁴¹⁾ Birth date and place. She died on Oct 29 1965 in Warren, PA, of stroke or pneumonia.⁽³⁵⁾ Date of death. Mary Loretta Dalton's godparents were L. Fred Denslinger and Ella McLaughlin.

After Mary Loretta Dalton married Joseph Leonard Fiscus, she lived in Kane. Built house on Sedgwick Street.

Mary Loretta Dalton had Alzheimer's disease. Children were:

Gerald Francis FISCUS^{(42) (43)(44) (45)(46) (47)} was born on Feb 11 1927 in Kane, PA, at home.⁽³²⁾ He graduated in Jun 1945 in Kane, PA, Kane Area H.S.. ⁽⁴⁸⁾ He died on Jan 31 1948 in Randolph Field, TX, in plane crash. Gerald Fiscus, son of Leonard Fiscus and Mary Loretta Dalton, was active in high school in intra-murals during four years, in football for his senior year, and in the Hunting and Fishing Club. He was a member of St. Callistus Church. In June 1945 he graduated from Kane H.S. and enlisted in U.S. Army Air Corps that same month.

Gerald requested assignment in and then went to Alaska shortly after his enlistment in the Air Corps [in June 1945] because he could not get into flight school right away.

Gerald Fiscus's girl friend after high school, and maybe while in high school as well, was Mary Ann Orolin. She is pictured in many of the photos in Gerald's photo album in the possession of Ruth Mary Fiscus as of December 1995. Gerald died in February 1948 but was going to give Mary Ann a diamond for an engagement in June 1948. Mary Ann lived in Philipsburg, PA as of 1995.

Gerald Fiscus smoked a pipe.

When Gerald died in February 1948 he had already soloed as a pilot. He was apparently still in flight school when he had his fatal crash at Richardson Field, Texas.

v. Rita FISCUS was born in 1931 in Kane, PA, at home. She died in 1931 in Kane, PA. Rita Fiscus, daughter of Leonard Fiscus and Mary Loretta Dalton, died as an infant. Lived about three months. -- Personal interview of Jim, Rosella, Lorrie and Ellen Marconi by Win Apel, December 27, 1995.
