Alman MYERS was born on Nov 23 1804.(17)
(351)
(550)(551)
(552) Original piece of paper is hard to read, but appears to say
November 23, 1807 [but it also says Lovica was born in August 1807, so 1807 cannot
be correct for Jacob]. -- Old piece of paper #1
T.H. Myers' transcription says the year was 1802. -- Paper #2
T.H. Myers says in his notebook says that the birth year was 1809 [which is consistent
with the order of children, with Lovica in 1807 and Susanna in 1811, but old
paper #1 clearly says 1807. -- T.H. Myers
[Although Paper #1 seems clearly to say 1807, that year is illogical given that
Lovica was 1807 also but a different month. 1809 is more logical than 1802 or
1807, given the birth dates of the other children and the fact that Jacob is
after Lovica in 1807 and before Susanna in 1811 when the children are listed.]

#2
Born April 10, 1801. -- Linda Dill, Gale Myers.
Old piece of paper #1 is the oldest source of Win Apel, and it lists John Myers
clearly with an April 10 birthdate, but with the last digit of the year unclear.
John is listed after Margaret clearly born in 1803 and before Lovica clearly
born in 1807, so he was probably not born in 1801 unless the original author
got the children out of order. -- Win Apel.
He died on Jan 20 1844.(556) John

"James Stroble Myers, one of the ablest jurists of western Pennsylvania,
and familiarly know as Colonel Myers, was a descendant of Frederick Myers....
James S. Myers, the youngest of a family of thirteen children, was born on the
9th day of June, 1813. He remained with his parents until January 12, 1828, at
which time he came to Franklin, his father having
indentured him to Nathaniel Cary to learn the tailor's trade. After becoming
proficient in that calling, he worked three years as a journeyman tailor at Brownsville,
Blairsville, and other places in the western part of the state, and in 1832 located
in Franklin, opening a shop on Thirteenth street, near Liberty, where he carried
on a successful business for some years. On the 8h of April 1831,he married Miss
Emily Bunnell, daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth (Davis) Brunnell. It was at
this period that Mr. Myers developed those qualities of energy, application,
and systematic endeavor which were the foundation of his subsequent success in
life. Owing to the lack of educational facilities at that time he had been obliged
to start out in the world with a limited knowledge of books, and with no capital
save a stout heart and strong physical constitution, and the mother-wit and common
sense inherited from his parentage. While attending the demands of his shop he
laid out a course for his future which seemed hedged with difficulties, but which
he resolutely carried out. Although carrying on
his shop and already married, with a growing family, he decided to become a lawyer.
