(802)(235) (509) (357) An excerpt from a book says that family tradition is that Elizabeth Hamilton came from Ireland, and had some other family that is uncertain, but that she at least had a brother named William. -- Tom Burns

She died in 1784 in West Marlborough, Chester Co., PA. (803)(235) (509) "Elizabeth Hamilton (m. Ring) survived her last husband until 1784, when she died in West Marlborough Twp. and was buried in a family graveyard near Doe Run, which has since been plowed up, much to the regret of those having friends buried there. He will, dated Jan. 17, 1784, and proved March 12, 1784, is recorded at West Chester, PA, in Will Book G, page 219." She mentions sons, grandchildren [including Margaret] and great grandchildren in that will [and listed in the Burns History]. -- Tom Burns.

He died after 1786. Hector McNeil was assessed with 168 acres in 1786, and so had to have died after that date. Elizabeth Hamilton died in 1784, and her will at that time said she had two sons, Hector McNeil and Archibald McNeil. -- Tom Burns

Hector McNeil, son of Archibald McNeil, Sr. and Elizabeth Hamilton McNeil, "was a resident of West Marlborough Twp. [in Chester Co., PA] where he was assessed as a single freeman in 1764. In 1774 he was assessed with 170 acres, and in 1786 with 168 acres. He married and had children but they have not been identified." -- Tom Burns
