30. Jeremiah (Jerry) (Jeremy) John DALTON⁽¹⁵⁸⁾⁽⁴¹⁾⁽¹⁵⁹⁾⁽³⁴⁾ was born on Apr 26 1859 in North Pine Grove (near Crown), PA.⁽¹⁵⁸⁾⁽⁴²⁾ Birth date. He died in 1939 in Kane, PA. Jeremiah (Jerry) J. Dalton was a retired [Kane] borough street employee. He died at home, 812 Welsh Street. Born in North Pine Grove, April 26, 1859. Dalton was engaged in farming and woods operations there until moving to [Kane] 30 years ago [in 1909] for employment in glass industry. He left the glass industry for a Kane borough street department job 20 years ago [in 1919], and retired [in 1931] after 12 years of service. Jeremiah Dalton was married in Crown, PA, to Mary Ellen Sharrow, on May 1, 1888. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and St. Callistus Church. Survived by wife, and following children: Mrs. Leonard Fiscus, Kane; Mrs. James Taylor, Bradford; James and George, Elmira; Edward, Erie; Park, James City; and Bert and Harry of Kane; one brother, Michael Dalton of Marienville and three sisters, Mrs. Bridget Hefren of Loleta, Miss Mary Dalton and Mrs. Gust Sharrow of North Pine Grove. Two children preceded him in death at infancy, and a third, John Dalton, WW veteran in a CCC transport accident in 1936. Also brother Patrick died before him. -- Obituary

31. Mary Ellen (Ella) SHARROW was born on Feb 10 1869 in Scotch Hill, Clarion Co., PA. She died on Jan 7 1965 in Kane, PA, Kane Community Hospital.⁽¹⁶⁰⁾ Mary Ellen Sharrow, the widow of Jeremiah J. Dalton, lived at 812 Welsh Street, Kane, PA. Prior to that she lived in Pine Grove, PA before coming to Kane [in 1910] 55 years prior to death. Member of St. Callistus Church in Kane. DALTON was born on Apr 22 1889 in North Pine Grove (near Crown), PA.⁽⁴¹⁾⁽⁴²⁾ He was baptized on Apr 25 1889 in Crown, Clarion Co., PA, St. Mary's Catholic Church.⁽⁴²⁾ He died on Nov 11 1936 in PA.⁽¹⁶¹⁾⁽¹⁶²⁾ John Dalton was killed while in the service. The bus in which he was riding somewhere in lower Pennsylvania crossed a bridge and crashed into the water below.

John Dalton died in 1936 of injuries received in CCC transport accident. He was the son of Jerry J. Dalton.

Before 1936 the CCC camps were closed and opened to veterans. He was baptized on Mar 15 1896 in Crown, Clarion Co., PA, St. Mary's Catholic Church.⁽⁴²⁾ He died on Mar 15 1972 in Elmira, NY.⁽¹⁵⁹⁾ He died of prostrate conditions.⁽¹⁵⁹⁾ Godparents were J. Peter Hefren and Bridget Hefren.

Never graduated from high school. Moved from North Pine Grove, PA to Kane, PA in early school years. Went to school in Kane. Dropped out of 7th grade, perhaps. Never went to H.S. Stayed in Kane until about 1932, when he went to Elmira to work for the Delaware Lacawanna R.R. Retired when he was 62.

Worked for Delaware Lacawanna Railroad. That is why he moved to Elmira, NY.
