Eva Dorthea (Dolly) (Dorothy) WETTLING (WHITLING)⁽⁴⁰⁶⁾⁽⁴⁰⁴⁾⁽⁴⁰⁸⁾ was born in 1805 in Alsace-Lorraine, France or Germany.⁽²²⁶⁾⁽⁴⁰⁹⁾ Henry Wettling and his wife, Dorthea, lived in Alsace-Lorraine, France or Germany, took their children from there to America in 1828, [and so all their children were probably all born in Alsace-Lorraine, France or Germany before 1828.] -- Whitling family tree, p.3.

Eva Dorthea Whitling was the oldest daughter of Henry Whitling, Sr. -- Whitling family tree, p. 16.

"Dorothy Whitling was born in Germany in the year 1815 [date appears in original as 1805 with a "1" through the "0" so the new date is 1805]. She was the daughter of Henry Whitling Sr. and Eva Dorthea. She came with her parents to America in 1828. They lived on Manhattan Island for about three years, and were truck farmers. They moved to Pennsylvania, settling in Clarion Co., Pa.
