Florence, their third daughter, was born in 1930. They then moved up to Fifth
Street, where they lived when their oldest daughter, Marian, began elementary
school at the Innis Street School in about the fall of 1934. While Marian was
in the second grade, about 1936, they moved down the hill to First Street near
the old Kramer Wagon Works. While Marian was in the second grade still, in the
spring of 1936, Theodore, Cora and their three daughters moved to Reno, PA, for
a few months, and then to Pittsburgh, PA. They lived in a large yellow house
there on Lincoln Avenue in north Pittsburgh with Cora's mother, her brother Chuck
and his wife Sally, her sister Ivy and her husband Ed and their daughters Ruth
and Betty Hummel. Twila Myers was born to Theodore and Cora in April 1937 while
they lived there. Then, the family moved to Gibsonia, PA, to an old farmhouse
with no running water, where they lived from 1937-38. Sometime in 1938, when
it was cold, the Myers family packed up in an old boxy Chevy and moved to Philadelphia.
They lived in Philadelphia from 1938 sometime to the fall of 1939. While there,
they were visited by Gordon Myers, Theodore's brother, when Gordon came for the
1939 World's Fair in Philadelphia. In the fall of 1939, the Myers' family moved
to Millvale, PA, where Theodore bought a brand new 1940 Plymouth for $1000.
Although they moved from one house to another while in Millvale, they stayed
there until the three oldest girls married. Then, Theodore, Cora and Twila moved
to Idaho for a couple of years in the 1950s. They returned in the summer of
1955, after their daughter Twila had graduated from high school, leaving her
there to attend BYU in the fall. -- Marian Myers

11. Cora Leda WARREN
(1)(24)
was born on
Nov 13 1910 in U.S..(24)
(19)(25)
(26) Place of birth: Cora Leda Warren was born in England or the
U.S. She was either the first Warren child born in the U.S. or the last one
born in England. Cora Leda Warren always told her kids that she was the first
of the Warren children to be born in the U.S., but Betty Hummel said Cora as
born on Isle of Wight, England. Gloria Warren did not know where Cora was born.
Yet, Betty Hummel said her mother, Ivy Warren, was three years old when they
came to the U.S.; if that is true, and she was born in 1906, then the Damps came
over in 1909 before Cora Leda was born.
Born Nov. 13, 1910. -- T.H. Myers
Cora Leda Warren was born in the U.S. -- T.H. Myers, Marian Myers
She died on Jan 12 1974 in Franklin, PA, Franklin Hospital.
(27)(28) Win and Lorrie Apel
stayed with Cora Leda Warren in the hospital New Year's Eve, 1973-74. Cora was
real confused; the nurses wanted to tie her down. Because her daughters did
not want her tied down, Win and Lorrie stayed with her. The next morning Lorrie
gave her a bath, and Cora said how much that meant to her. She ultimately died
at 6:10 am, January 12, 1974.
She died of Hodgkin's disease. Leda Warren married young, in part to get out
of the home with her many brothers to escape having to take care of them all.
-- Win Apel.
Leda Warren Myers was first called "Little Grandma" by her grandson,
Win Apel, because he had two Grandma Myers at the time, and Leda was the smaller
of the two. The name stuck. -- Win Apel.
Cora Leda Myers used to talk in her sleep, especially toward the end of her life.
Betty Hummel even heard her say from time to time, "Ivy, I'm coming. It's
OK. I'll be there." -- Betty Hummel.
