464. Thomas Solomon AARON (777)(495) was born about 1760 in Lebanon Co., PA.(646) (348)(495) FamilySearch says birth date was about 1751 in Lebanon, PA. Pat O'Neill and Charron say it was 1760.
He died on Jul 12 1878 in Clarion Co., PA.(746) All that is known of Thomas Aaron is the baptismal record of his son, George, in Father Helbron's Greensburg Records, published by the Catholic Historical Society of Philadelphia, and a deed of 21 October 1811 in the courthouse in Greensburg, PA, wherein Thomas Aaron of Westmoreland County conveyed all his farm animals and household goods to Simon Drum, Jr. Tradition says Thomas and Susan Aaron had eight children. Myth says he came to America from Germany, and may have even been the son of a baron, and that he came incognito to avoid German military service. Another myth is that he was Jewish and converted to Catholicism when he married Elizabeth. -- Aarons of Crate.

One story has it that Thomas Solomon Aaron came to this County with a certain Russian Prince Galitizin who migrated to America for religious freedom bringing with him families from Bavaria and France. It may be that there is truth in this and that Thomas Solomon was from a Jewish Bavarian Family that Converted to Catholicism. See oral Appendix 1. Robert Walsh lists the children of Thomas Aaron and Elizabeth Reinsel as Joseph, Thomas and Daniel (1797). -- Walsh.

Thomas Stobie lists six children:

She died after 1801. From Lebanon County, PA. Only family tradition supplies Elizabeth's maiden name. She may have been of German ancestry. Children were:

on July 2, 1859. Buried on July 3, 1859 in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Crates,
PA.

Conrad Aaron served in War of 1812, from April 21, 1813 to November 8, 1913, and then, after enlisting again on November 20, 1814, he served until discharged December 4, 1814, at Statler's Tavern, Allegheny Mountain. -- Aarons of Crate.

Conrad had two wives but I got this information from the family background work of Donna Wolfson and it is unclear with which wife he had the children. -- jjcharron.
