128. JOHANNES ARTZ 4 was born in 1726 in PALATINATE, GER..(7) He was born in 1726/27 in PALATINATE, GER.. He was confirmed in 1744 in MARION TSP. He DIED in 1780 in SHEN. CO.. He DIED between 1780 and 1782 in SHEN. CO.. He appeared on the census. MOVED TO VA.EARLY 1770'S ACCORDING TO CENSUS RECORDS. ST. DANIELS CHURCH founded May, 1751,aka THE CORNER CHURCH (Eck Kirche);It was built on land donated by John Artz ,Micheal Shower,and,Abraham Lauck. The land was given " for the benefit" of the Dutch LuthernCongreation. The original church was erected on the parcel given by John Artz, as well as the older graveyard. On Dec. 8, 1976 the church and educational building was destroyed by fire. A new building has been erected near the original building, and the old site is now a memorial garden, the partially destroyed steeple bell is hanging in the memorial garden.(interesting point) ;the church was not on a corner , nor was Daniel a Saint. The three parcels of land which were donated joined at the "corner" and Daniel was a pastor. He was married to ELIZABETH GREATHOUSE on Jan 5 1748 in CHRIST'S CHURCH, PHILADELPHIA, PA.
