URIAN HARTSFIELD:
Emigration: Bef. March 01, 1674/75, Settled along the Delaware River, on 3-1-1675 surveyor Walter Whorton laid out a 350 acre tract of land on the west side of the river.
Occupation: 1676, Appointed "Under Sheriff" for Upland and Dependencies. In June 1677 he requested to be relieved of the office.
Probate: Bet. 1682 - 1684, When William Penn laid out Germantown, it appears he traded 150 acres to Jurian for a road through his property (which was an old indian path and is now Germantown Road).
Property: March 25, 1676, Gov. Edmund Andros titled the land to Jurian who at the time was living in a settlement called Marcus Hook.
Residence: 1676, The property was on the west side of the Delaware River, at the lower side of Cohocksink creek at a run called Coolaoque-nau-que. That is Girard Ave between Front and 10th Streets in today's Philadelphia
