I also knew Zora Gladys Griggs. But I always knew her as Aunt Gladys. She was born on Oct. 2, 1894 in Sheridan, Michigan. She was the oldest child of Frank and Mary Griggs. Also, she was born on the farm.
She married a guy named John Deacons. They were married on July 3, 1912 in Sheridan. John was 23 years old and Gladys was 17 years old. [Gladys was married before her last two sisters were born.]
I remember my Aunt Gladys living next to her mother in the town of Sheridan. She lived on a corner lot. I mowed her lawn just like I did Mary's lawn. They lived in a house trailer with a small room built on to the side. She was also a great cook and a very neat housekeeper. They were so neat that I could only mow there lawn a special way. And that was to blow all the grass clippings away from the house and flowers.
They also had a nice little dog. Aunt Gladys would feed that dog really good food. He would get so fat. They were both very nice people. I liked both of them a lot.
