In their early years I considered Helen, Cindy and Carol to be a burden or hardship
in my life. First they took from me the position of being the "baby"
of the family. I was old enough to learn how to change their diapers, I had
to be their baby-sitter, and was expected to even consider their safety and welfare.
My brother Bill was not the best role model for me in this context, and would
in fact find a way to pass his responsibilities in this regard off to his little
brother. Is it any wonder then that when the song Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered
became popular I identified my situation by identifying each of the three title
words to one of my sisters?
It has been so many years that I am now confused which of the Twins was Bewiched
and which one was Bewildered, but I think Cindy has bewildered me the most.
I always felt a special closeness to Cindy, like we dipped down into the same
area in the gene pool. But for the differences in age and sex, I thought we
were peas in a pod. Maybe it was that we grew up in different times (I was before
the Hippies) with different values and maybe different beliefs, but I was deeply
bothered by the breakup of her marriage to Tom. I didn't understand it but then,
I didn't have to.
She was married to Thomas O'BRIEN about 1970 in Madison,
WI. Cynthia Palmer BANDY and Thomas O'BRIEN had the following
