CN. She died on 2 Mar 1970 in Nashville, TN. She was buried in Jun 1970 in
Wayne, ME.

We used to call Mom "the world's greatest manager" because it seemed
she tried to run our lives. She would say "Peter, I think it would be nice
if xxxx", and I knew that if I didn't do xxxx, there would be hell to pay.
Now in later years I can not recall any xxxx that was truly unreasonable.
It was Mom who took on the childrearing responsibility, and she actually ended
up raised two families. It is my impression that she either mellowed or wore
out by the time the "second" family of Helen, Cindy and Carol arrived.
Maybe the times were easier for her after we returned to Madison. The most
lasting impression of Mom is that she had character, and was a caring, classic
woman for her time.
