38. Martha Elizabeth MALE was born in 1867 in Barnett Ridge, Barlow Township, Washington County, Ohio. She died on 2 Dec 1963 in Marietta, Marietta Township, Washington County, Ohio. She was buried in Rockland, Belpre Township, Washington County, Ohio in the Rockland Cemetery.

NEWPAPER REPORT: from the "Public Forum" PRAISE FOR RESIDENT Editor of the Times:

"Through the medium of the Public Forum, I would like to say that much credit is due Mrs. Elizabeth Kennedy, an aged resident of Cutler village, who so generously opened her home to care for unfortunate victims of the storm which passed through this neighborhood Monday afternoon. As the injured persons were found, they were taken to Mrs. Kennedy's home where they were made comfortable as possible until medical assistance could be secured. In all, nine persons were cared for in the Kennedy home for over three hours. Mrs. Kennedy and her family worked with Dr. Whitacre of Chesterhill giving first aid to the sufferers. An ambulance later removed them to Memorial Hospital.

This wonderful neighbor never fails when duty calls. She seems happiest when she is caring for the afflicted or comforting the sorrowing. We wonder as we sadly note her failing health and strength, if when she has gone to reap her reward, we will ever find another such neighbor who can fill her place. I wish to extend the thanks of the whole community to Mrs. Kennedy for the many times she has shared our joys and sorrows."

She was married to Reverend Isaac "Ike" H. KENNEDY (son of Thomas Hugh KENNEDY and Mariah "Maria" COOK) on 19 Jun 1886 in Washington County, Ohio. Reverend Isaac "Ike" H. KENNEDY was born in 1865 in Ohio. He died on 25 Sep 1951 in Cutler, Fairfield Township, Washington County, Ohio. He was a Methodist Minister. Martha Elizabeth MALE and Reverend Isaac "Ike" H. KENNEDY had the following children:
