to the barn to milk cows owned by Harold Mayle, Billy's father. He was buried
in Rockland, Belpre Township, Washington County, Ohio in the Rockland Cemetery.
He was married to Lillian Lenore ADAMS (daughter of Riley
"Jack" ADAMS and Mary STEWART) in 1943 in Fort
McClillan Army Base, Aniston, Alabama. Lillian Lenore
ADAMS was born on 11 Sep 1922 in Parkersburg, Wood County, West Virginia.
Phillip Leon "Billy" MAYLE and Lillian Lenore ADAMS had the following

Robert Leon MAYLE was born on 12 Dec 1946 in Parkersburg, Wood County,
West Virginia. He died on 30 Jan 1969 in Belpre, Belpre Township, Washington
County, Ohio. He was buried in Rockland, Belpre Township, Washington County,
Ohio in the Rockland Cemetery.
"The body of a Belpre man, Robert Leon Mayle, 22, who had been missing about
seven weeks, was recovered about noon yesterday from the Ohio River. A ruling
of 'death by accidental drowning' was made by Dr. Richard W. Corbitt, Wood
County, W.Va., coroner.
Positive identification of the body of Mayle, who had lived at 608 Walnut St.,
was made by Belpre Police Chief W. D. Locke, who said the body was in an advanced
state of decomposition.
The police chief reported Dayton Hawkins of Blennerhassett Ave. was walking along
the river bank when he discovered the body about 11:20 a.m. and notified the
police. Locke, in turn, informed the Washington County Sheriff's Department
which advised calling the West Virginia Conservation Department, and Lt. W.P.
Shaver of the department made the initial investigation with Locke."
