Agusta "Guste" Mae WARNER was born on 30 May 1900 in Cutler,
Fairfield Township, Washington County, Ohio. She died on 11 May 1980 in Zanesville,
Muskingum County, Ohio. She was buried on 13 May 1980 in Rockland, Belpre Township,
Washington County, Ohio. Charles Henry PRYOR and Agusta "Guste" Mae

Charles Henry PRYOR Jr. was born in 1925 in Barlow Township, Washington
County, Ohio. He died on 24 Nov 1936 in Rockland, Ohio. NEW PAPER REPORT: "BOY
RIDING BIKE KILLED AT ROCKLAND: November 24, 1936, Charles Henry Pryor, Jr.,
colored, aged 11 years, was fatally injured when struck by an automobile on State
Route No. 7 at Rockland at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
He died in an ambulance while being taken to the office of a Belpre doctor.
The body was taken to the Spencer Mortuary. Merle Welch, 26, of Belpre Route
1 drove the automobile that struck the boy. The Pryor boy and his cousin, Kenneth
Stribling (sin), aged 9 years, were riding double on the former's bicycle. The
automobile swing around another car on the highway and Welch failed to see the
bicycle in time to avoid a crash. The wheel was crushed and the boys were thrown
to the side of the highway. The Pryor boy's skull was fractured, he suffered
other injuries and was unconscious when help reached him. The Stribling boy
was not seriously injured. Dr. H.E. Dickson of Matamoras, county coroner, was
called to investigate the case. Officers of the State Highway Patrol and Marshal
William Mulligan of Belpre assisted with the investigation. This is the seventeenth
highway fatality to occur in Washington County during 1936 as compared with nine
in 1935. The dead boy, was a son of Mr and Mrs. Henry Pryor of Rockland, the
father being employed on the state highways.
He is survived by his parents and by one brother and one sister. Funeral services
will be held at Universalist Church at Rockland on Friday at 2 p.m. Rev. Mr.
Morris (G.W. Morris)(sic), pastor of the African M.E. Church (Wings of Hope Tabernacle)
of Zanesville, will officiate. Interment will be made in Rockland Cemetery."

County, Ohio. She died on 8 Jan 1917 in Washington County, Ohio. She was buried
in Rainbow Cemetery, Washington County, Ohio. |
