22. William Joseph BARNETT was born on 1 Feb 1853 in Barnett Ridge, Barlow Township, Washington County, Ohio. He died on 10 Oct 1884 in Barnett Ridge, Barlow Township, Washington County, Ohio. He was buried in Barnett Ridge, Barlow Township, Washington County, Ohio in the Barnett Ridge Cemetery. The Marietta Times of November 20, 1884, pg. 3, col. 1:
"Ellis Hardy, who was arrested on a charge of killing William Barnett, has been indicted for murder in the first degree. We understand that the evidence against Hardy is not very conclusive."

He was married to Mary E. "Maria" "Mollie" TURNER (daughter of Edward TURNER and Emma LNUK) on 22 Feb 1878 in Washington County, Ohio. Mary E. "Maria" "Mollie" TURNER was born in 1861 in the Common Wealth of Virginia. She died in 1927. William Joseph BARNETT and Mary E. "Maria" "Mollie" TURNER had the following children:
