630. Arza Talmadge BARNETT was born on 17 Jul 1916 in Barnett Ridge, Barlow Township, Washington County, Ohio. He died on 29 Apr 2001 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois at the Zencor Rehabilitation Hospital. He was buried on 7 May 2001 in Highland Cemetery, Huntington, West Virginia. He was a postal letter carrier in Huntington, West Virginia. Just after the war Arza worked for several years at Standard Printing of Huntington, West Virginia

He was married to Mae Eloise SLASH (daughter of Charles SLASH and Violet LAYNE) about 1942. Mae Eloise SLASH was born on 5 Aug 1916 in Parkersburg, Wood County, West Virginia. She died on 21 Jan 1992 in Huntington, West Virginia. She was educated in Douglass High School, Huntington, West Virginia. She later received an Associate in Applied Science Degree from Marshall University and worked as a Registered Nurse before retiring in 1980.

She was active in the community her whole life time. Following her retirement she became active with Pastoral Care at Cabell-Huntington Hospital, serving on the Board of the Cabell Huntington Coalition for the Homeless, Inc. and was an active member of the Carter G. Woodson Memorial Foundation. She served as Chairman of the Douglass Historical Committee which was instrumental in making Douglass High School a historical landmark. She was honored by the Black Professional and Business Womens Association for her lifelong achievements.

She belonged to the First Baptist Church. A very active and devoted member , she served as a deaconess, past president of the General Mission and President of the Elijah Cobb Missionary Circle. She voluntered her time for Pastoral Care to the elderly, sick and shut-ins for the church and community. She was a member of Church Women United. She was also an honorary member of The New Philippian Baptist Church in Pennsauken, New Jersey where she served as an acting deaconess. She was buried in Highland Cemetery, Huntington, West Virginia. Arza Talmadge BARNETT and Mae Eloise SLASH had the following children:
