She was married to Alphonso GASKINS J.D. (son of George GASKINS and Gussie MCGILL) in 1994 in Niroby, Kenya. Alphonso GASKINS J.D. Photo was born on 5 Jul 1946 in Coward, Florence County, South Carolina. He was an Educator and teacher and holder of many Degrees. On the West Bank and Gaza during February of 2002 the DPK Consulting's rule of law project for West Bank and Gaza was pleased to announce the appointment of Alphonso Gaskins to their team as the Legal Education Specialist. He provided leadership in the improvement of Palestinian legal education by working with four Palestinian universities on curriculum development, focusing particularly on commercial law, ethics, alternative dispute resolution, and human rights; and faculty development. Al brings to the project extensive experience in legal education, both internationally and within the United States. As the founding dean of the Moi University Faculty of Law in Nairobi, Kenya, AI was responsible for overall operation of administrative and instructional components of the Faculty of Law.

Al has 18 years of experience as a law professor at several prestigious universities in the U.S., and was the Associate Dean of Student Affairs at Antioch School of Law in Washington, DC.

The project made progress on automation and new civil law procedures. The team, led by Randy Ackerman, installed an automated case flow management system in two of the four pilot courts, while developing a manual for records management. Through an ADR contract, DPK set up two dispute resolutions centers in Ramallah and Gaza, further enhancing the rule of project implementation.

A linkage contract was signed with a consortium of Chicago law schools (John Marshall, DePaul, and North Illinois) and the Arab American Bar Association of Illinois to provide support for the four Palestinian law schools. The contract was designed to permit the Palestinian law professors and graduate students to attend classes in Chicago. The consortium also used video conferencing facilities to hold academic exchanges. The law schools was linked with the Bir Zeit law school's legal database, further enhancing the sharing of information.

DPK received approval for the program to provide assistance to the Office of Attorney General. That program strengthen the Palestinian prosecutorial system through the development of a training unit within the Office of the Attorney General and through the provision of technical assistance to enhance enforcement capabilities.
