Jim was pronounced dead of self-inflicted wounds shortly after 3 p.m. on a Monday by Dr. Kenneth Owen, Washington County, Ohio coroner. Sheriff's report said that Joe Barnett, Fleming Rt.1, a brother of the victim, found the body shortly after 2 p.m. and summoned the Sheriff. Deputies said that Jim had used a yardstick to trigger a 12 gauge shotgun blast into his chest. He was buried in Barnett Ridge, Barlow Township, Washington County, Ohio in the Barnett Ridge Cemetery.
