1394. Albert VanVoorhis "Burton Van" ADAMS was born on 5 May 1896 in Barnett Ridge, Barlow Township, Washington County, Ohio. He died on 21 Dec 1957 in Bethesda Hospital, Zanesville, Muskingum County, Ohio. He was eulogized on 23 Dec 1957 in United Brethren Church. He was buried on 23 Dec 1957 in Athens County, Ohio, in the Mount Herman Cemetery. He was an employee of the Burnham Corporation. Grindstone Country by W. The Hocking quarries were white only for some time until John Cleary hired Richard Male, Clayton Marshall and Bert Adams. When some of the white men threatened to leave, Cleary told them to go home if they couldn't work with these boys. "These boys are going to stay here...."

He was married to Edith Marie MALE (daughter of FNUK LNUK and Adaline "Addie" MALE) on 17 May 1916 in Washington County, Ohio. Edith Marie MALE was born on 3 Aug 1898 in Cutler, Fairfield Township, Washington County, Ohio. She died on 21 Dec 1975 in Bethesda Hospital, Zanesville, Muskingum County, Ohio. She was buried in Athens County, Ohio, in the Mount Herman Cemetery. She received undertaking services from Hillis Funeral Home.
