FIRST GENERATION

1. Thomas E. BARTON was born on 3 Aug 1917 in Mead, Oklahoma. Birth Certificate Graduated from Mead High School, Mead, OK in 1936. Worked way through school by working for Cooper's Dairy, Houck Grocery, on N. Washington, Tink & Tom's Cafe, and Thompson Book & Supply Co., Durant, OK. Stared at Thompson as fountain boy and stock clerk. Worked up to Asst. Mgr. Sales Manager, and was manager for about two years untill H. Innerarity returned, at which time joined the Regular Army. Trained at Fort Bliss, San Antonio, TX, and attended Criminial Investigator's school in Carsile Barracks, Pennsalvania. Graduated among the top group and was sent to Europe as Investigator. Attended two weeks of CID School in Germany. Served in 5th and 52nd CID. Upon discharge joined Army Reserves and served for several years therein.
Graduated from Southeastern State College with B.A. degree. After spending some time in Germany as Criminal Investigator, received a Masters degree from Southeastern State University, in first graduating Masters class. During the time he taught in Sherman, serving as 7th grade teacher and Coordinator of Distributive Education, he attended North Texas University, acquiring over 60 hours toward E.Dd. Degree.
Was teacher, coach and administrator in Texas Public Schools for 21 years. Served as security guard after retiring, and later as part time instructor with Grayson Christian School. Later served as substitute teacher for several schools in Grayson County.

He was married to Juanita L. CRABTREE (daughter of Leland Dallas CRABTREE and Ethel Lila BEHRNS) in May 1950 in Home of brother, J. D. Barton, Jr., Dallas, TX. Juanita L. CRABTREE was born on 27 Oct 1914 in Dallas, TX. Thomas E. BARTON and Juanita L. CRABTREE had the following children:
