8. Thomas BARTON was born in c. AL, must check 1850 MS Census. He died in c. Noxubee Co., AL. I have copy of his marriage certificate. Just simple statement, and approval by (if I recall correctly, John Barton). I presume John was an uncle, and that he gave approval because of the late deatj of his earlier wife. Thomas probably needed someone to take care of his very young children. He was married to Elizabeth RANSOM on 4 Jul 1831 in Jefferson Co., AL.⁽²⁾

9. Elizabeth RANSOM was born in c. NC. ck. Noxubee Co., 1850 census. Children were:
