| The Moon family branch I have traced originates in the Rutalnd, Vermont area about 1774. Jesse Moon was born on May 29, 1774-place,parents or siblings unknown. Jesse married Rebecca Castle who was born July 14, 1801 and died October 8, 1830. Jesse and Rebecca has 5 children-Elmira (May 22, 1820); John (Oct 23, 1823); Abigail (Dec 22,1825); Nathan Warren (Aug 31, 1827); Rebecca Castle (aug 13, 1829). Nathan Warren Moon was my ancestor; he married Ann Leonard, daughter of Michael Leonard of Tipperary, Ireland. She was born Aug 18, 1829 on board ship from Ireland at which time her mother died and was buried at sea. Ann Moon died Jan 24, 1906 in Rosendale, WI. Nathan Warren Moon died May 6, 1911 and is bured in Rosendale, WI. They had 5 children Emma Rebecca Moon, Nathan Jesse Moon, William Henry Moon, John Leonard Moon, Carrie Morretta Moon. My ancestor is Willian Henry Moon. He married Alice Lavinia Choquett (Shaykett)and they had 4 children-Joseph Nathan Moon, John Frankilin Moon, Mabel Ann Moon, Eleanor May Moon. Joseph Nathan Moon is my ancestor. He married Hazel Irene Lucas and had 2 children-John Leonard Moon (my father) and Joseph Nathan Moon. I have names, dates etc. of most of the people in these direct lines. If anyone has additional information on the original Jesse Moon or his offspring. Please contact me. |
