Family Origins

Borrowed Memories......An Unproven Collection of Ancestors..

Hi!
I am a fairly new researcher....about 3 or 4 years now. I have collected via the internet, family, my own research and the LDS church, information that I have put together into my gedcom. I do not have the proof for the majority of it. Some of it, I do not even have a source for. You know how beginning researchers are! I did not know how to use my Family Origins program very well at that time and did not put all my sources into it. Some of my sources do not wish to be named and I will respect that. I have been told by some very serious HICKEY researchers that I have some serious errors. I believe them and ask that you not take and use any of the Hickey data. I am working to try and correct some of those errors and will let you know when I have gotten the OK from them that it is usable. I am not yet able to separate and remove them easily so I will just let this warning suffice to warn you.
My purpose on posting the gedcom is to possibly help someone find a name or a date or a location that they have not found before and then they can go and look for the proof themselves.

Please, if you do find errors, e-mail me. I will try to correct them when I find the time. If you wish to share your proof with me so that the information I share is more dependable, it will be very much appreciated. I am very happy to correspond and discuss what I am knowledgable about. If I don't know I will tell you that too. If you are writing to criticize me for posting a gedcom without proof, please save your time. I have decided that the people I may possibly help are more important than a mistake that may send someone in the wrong direction. Who knows, they may find something they weren't even looking for on that dead end street.

One other thing, I am looking for some live Whitlock relatives. We have what we call "the lost and found" in our family. So far, I have found 2 cousins, and one second cousin whose existence and/or location were unknown to us. A third cousin found us. Boy, are we glad she did. We know there are at least two more, her brothers, out there somewhere. Their father was Christopher Roger (aka Chris) Whitlock, my uncle. He moved around a lot in the South. He has passed away. They still have 2 aunts, a sister, and some cousins, who would like to meet them. So, if Roger (Chris) is your father, let us know. E-mail me, please!!!!

THE FAMILIES I MAINLY RESEARCH IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER ARE:

ALLEN, ARVIN, BAUGH, BELCHER, BOWMAN, CALDWELL, COCHRAN, COMBE, COMBES, COMBS, CONDER, COOK, CRABTREE, CUNDIFF, DEWITT, ELSWICK, FREDERICK, FRENCH, FUGATE, GARMONY, GIRDLER, GIRTLEY, GOODE, GRIBBONS, HAFLEY, HICKEY, HATFIELD, HAWKINS, MATHENY, MORRIS, MULLINS, PHILLIPPI, PICKERELL, POTTER, RABOURN, RABURN, REYBOURNES, RAINWATER, RATLIFF, SHIELDS, SPRINGER, VAUGHT, VICKORY, WEST, WHITLOCK

A DIFFERENT POINT OF VIEW

IF YOU COULD SEE YOUR ANCESTORS,
ALL STANDING IN A ROW
WOULD YOU BE PROUD OF THEM,
OR DON'T YOU REALLY KNOW?

SOME STRANGE DISCOVERIES ARE MADE
IN CLIMBING FAMILY TREES.
AND SOME OF THEM, YOU KNOW
DO NOT PARTICULARLY PLEASE.

IF YOU COULD SEE YOUR ANCESTORS,
ALL STANDING IN A ROW.
THERE MIGHT BE SOME OF THEM, PERHAPS,
YOU WOULDN'T CARE TO KNOW.

BUT, HERE'S ANOTHER QUESTION WHICH
REQUIRES A DIFFERENT VIEW.
IF YOU COULD MEET YOUR ANCESTORS,
WOULD THEY BE PROUD OF YOU?
