| I am researching the Bell family, who may have come from Pennsylvania, into Virgina, Caswell, Guilford, Burke, Buncombe, North Carolina, then into Cocke County, Tennessee, Cherokee and Clay County, North Carolina, some moving into Tellico Plains, Tenness and quite a few into Foard County, Texas as well as Oklahoma. There is much controversy on this Bell family, but am endeavoring to straighten out the kinks. Am looking for Thomas Bell, born about 1751, in Caswell County, North Carolina. He married Elizabeth Carson, in Guilford County, North Carolina. It is believed his father is Samuel Bell, born Pennsylvania or Ireland, in the early 1700's. Also, I am looking for the Cochran/Cockerham family, thought to have come out of Lunenburg, Virginia, with a lot of them settling in Surry County, North Carolina, some Georgia and some into Buncombe and Macon County, North Carolina. Looking for confirmation of the parents, of William Cockram, born about 1769, in North Carolina and died in 1841, in Buncombe County, North Carolina. His descendants settled into the Buncombe and Macon County areas of North Carolina. His father is thought to be Daniel Cockerham, Jr. Any help, suggestions or critiquing, is always productive and I am always open, about this research, in looking for the truth. Other surnames researching are: RUSSELL, STEWART, DITMORE, HAMPTON, BLYTHE, COFFEY, DALRYMPLE, HENSLEY, WALDROUP, BISHOP, ROGERS, WILSON, MURRAY, RUTH, MOORE, BAKER. |
