Judge Cann had received the information from a Mrs. James P. McCann on Sept. 30, 1973. Her address at that time was 3174 Dwight Street, San Diego, CA 92104.

James C. Mitchel was born about 1809 in Hart County, KY. Birth date calculated from age 45 when married on December 17, 1854. See comments for Henry H. Mitchel, son of James C. Mitchel.

Notes from Mrs. James P. McCann in the Roy Cann file indicate James C. and Ester Mitchel moved at some point from Hart County to Green County. "The Mitchels lived in Green County about 0.5 mile East of Little Barren River across from Elklick (?) ??the Cumberland Trace crosses the Little Barren River."

Richard Bennett is trying to locate James C. and Ester on the 1860 and later Census records for Green County. Hopefully, we can find more information on their marriage, deat and burial locations.

He was married to Ester M. CANN on 17 Dec 1854 in Hart County, KY.⁽²⁵⁰⁾ The Roy A. Cann records in the Hart County Historical Society state that Ester Cann Wright married James C. Mitchel after her first husband died. This is also confirmed by birth records for one of their children. Mr. Cann obtained this marriage information in 1973 from a descedent of the Mitchel family. See additional comments in other notes for this family.

They were married in Hart County. Death dates or locations have not been located. Richard Bennett needs to more closely search the Hart and Green County census and marriage, birth and death records. They may have moved either to another area in KY or another state after the two children were born in Hart County.
