She was married to John BENNETT on 30 Sep 1842 in Hart County, KY. John apparently stayed in KY in 1842 and married rather than move to the Breckenridge, MO area with his mother and brothers. However, it is possible that he and his new wife moved to Missouri and then returned within the next 1-3 years. All of his children were born in KY according to all available records and the first child was born in 1846. This is consistent with the commets below concerning purchase of the farm in approx. 1845 when John was 22 years old. See comments on Sarah McCubbin Bennett concerning the family's move to Missouri in 1842..

According to notes James Bennett wrote from a conversation with his father, John Henry Bennett, John Bennett, William's son, purchased the farm on top of the hill near the mouth of Lynn Camp Creek when he was 22 years old (aprox. 1845 based on his birth year). The land had 2 cleared acres out of a total of 200 acres. Approximately 120 acres of this land has been owned continuously by his descedents ever since it was purchased by John. As of the year 2000, it is still owned by Nancy Bennett, widow of Frank Bennett. Frank was the great grandson of John Bennett. Children were: William Thomas Bennett , Nancy E. Bennett, Sarah F. Bennett, Martha Jane Bennett.

governor of Kentucky, is a descendent!
