James Watkins James Watkins was a Revolutionary Soldier and obtained a land grant from Patrick Henery in 1786. This is now referred to as "Watkins Bend" located on the North side of Green River between Canmer and Linwood. It is just east of Hwy. 31-E and can be viewed from the road which is on the edge of the bluff overlooking the bend in the river. The road into Watkins Bend is just west of Knoxes Creek Baptist Church.
