Richard Bennett has not been able to identify for certain the parents of Barnett Wright, "SR". There are several Wrigths buried in the William Cann Cemetery on the North Side of Green River near the mouth of Lynn Camp Creek. However, the ages are not correct to be either his mother or father.
The Wrights buried in the William Cann Cemetery are most likely close relatives. It is believed these Wrights moved to Hart County from North Carolina. Parents: Elijah ??? WRIGHT and Dorces ?? Wright. Parents: Elijah ??? WRIGHT and Dorces ?? Wright.

bullet Barnett W. WRIGHT was born on 16 Dec 1840 in Hart County, KY. Judge Cann's family history of Cann family, page 6, shows Barnet's birth date as December 15, 1839 instead of December 16, 1840. His dates were copied from the John Cann Bible which he had in his possession. However, the 1840 date is on Barnett's tomb stone in the Aetna Grove Baptist Church cemetery.

The 1880 Hart County Census shows his name as "Barnett B. Wright" He died on 18 Mar 1917 in Hart County, KY. He was buried in Aetna Grove Baptist Church (Green County), KY. He was called "Paw Barnett" according to his granddaughter, Olin Bennett Faris.

The "Barnett" name shows up in several generations. His father was named
Barnett. Also, Barnett Wright, his grandson, and son of John Wright, was given this name. The younger Barnett, who was a first cousin to John Henry Bennett,
was married to Ramona Druen. She is a sister to Edna Druen, who married Willard Whitlow, son of Myra Wright, and also a first cousin of both John Henry Bennett and Barnett Wright. Parents: Barnett WRIGHT "SR" and Ester M. CANN.

Cecil's house was just past the old Eve School House. Richard Bennett remembers seeing the school building but was never inside it. This is just past the Hart County line in Green County. An "Elijah Wright" is listed as buried in the Old William Cann Cemetery on the Riley Wright farm. Although no birth date is listed, his death is shown as December 10, 1838. Therefore, he may be of the correct age to be Barnet's father. This is only a guess by Richard Bennett since he has been unable to locate any other information on the ancestors of Barnet Wright, SR.

Richard Bennett recalls that when he was young his parents would visit the Albert Wrights to see Ida since she and his mother, Geneva Crump, were good friends.
