Born November 11, 1891 in Reichenbach i.V as David Alfred Beutler. Son of
factory owner Joseph Beutler and Elizabeth (Finder) Beutler.

Matriculated in the Gymnasium zu Zwickau May 14, 1906; passed final
examination Easter 1911

Entered the Albert-Ludwig University in Freiburg; left October 4, 1911
after a series of pre-med courses. (one semester).

Matriculated at the Friederick-Wilhelms Universitat zu Berlin October
19, 1911 for pre-med and medical studies (six semesters).

Passed pre-professional medical examination (Vorprufung) July 1913.

Entered military service in late 1913, and continued through World War I
first as Feldlunterarzt and then as Feldhilfsarzt. Served in five battles in the
years 1915-1917 [Yser (2), Wytschadtebogan, Arras, and Artois]. Awarded
Iron Cross, class 2, June 17, 1916. Awarded Ehrenkreuz fur
Frontkampfer (Honor Cross for Fighters on the Front Lines) August 30,
1935.

Continued medical studies at the Schlesige Friedrich-Wilhelms
Universitat zu Breslau, starting November 12, 1918. Studies continued
through April 1919 (three semesters).

Passed examination for license as physician in Breslau July 23, 1919.

Certificate: Doctor of Medicine and Surgery, Magna Cum Laude, Schlesige
Universitat Friederich-Wilhelm. Thesis: Uber Ependymcystem im Dritten
Ventrikel als Ursache Plotzliches Todes, dated April 10, 1920.

Assistant at the Pathologischen Institut der Universitat Breslau,
1920-1923. Volunteer Assistenarzt, then Assistenzarzt at the Statliche
Wenzel-Haucke-Krankenhaus, November 1, 1921 to August 1, 1923.

Worked in Krankenhaus Friedrichshain (Berlin-Charlottenburg), 1923-
1927; exact dates and position unknown

Listed in the Arztkammer fur Berlin as physician from June 26, 1925 to Dec
3, 1935

Married pediatrician Dr. Kaethe Italiener, December 23, 1925.

Private medical practice, Reichkanzlerplatz (later Adolf Hitler Platz), Berlin,
about 1925-1935.

Traveled to Palestine, Fall 1935, to investigate immigration. Was offered an
affidavit by cousins in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Accepted a position as
Roentgenologist at Mount Sinai Hospital in Milwakee.

Passed Wisconsin licensing examination, 1937. Entered private practice,
specializing in internal medicine.

With forty other Jewish refugees in Milwaukee, founded the Gesellschft der
Freunde (Society of Friends), to help such refugees assimilate into American
society. This organization was renamed the New Home Club. Dr. Beutler
served as President from the inception of the organization in 1937 until 1940.

Died from a heart attach, February 13, 1962.
