TENTH GENERATION

616. Michael GERST was born before 1684 in Schwenckhausen, Bavaria, Germany. I do not have any record of his birthdate, and am entering it as "before 1684" only under the assumption that he was likely to be at least 18 when Theobald was born in 1702. (Having some date entered makes it easier to distinguish one Michael Gerst from another in the index.) Michael's name is known only from the marriage records of his sons Theobald and Johan Friederich. Children were:

i. Johan Friederich GERST. Records of Sembach Reformed Church (see Notes for his brother Theobald) lists on p. 46B the marriage of Johan Friederich son of Michael Gerste to Hedwig Margaretha daughter of Andrea Tomy on 10 Sep 1737. This may be the Friederich Gerst who travelled to America with Theobald Gerst (see his Notes) and took the oath of allegiance at the same time. On the other
hand, that may have been Theobald's son, who would have been 16 at the time.
