2780. John BOXWELL was born in 1701 in Lingstown, County Wexford, Ireland. He died on 6 Feb 1768 in Lingstown, County Wexford, Ireland.⁽⁴⁵⁰⁾ JOHN BOXWELL, born 1701, appears to have gotten into financial difficulties which resulted in 1725 in the disentailment of the North Randalstown estate which had been entailed to him by his maternal grandfather. He married Susannah Harvey daughter of Rev. William Harvey of Bargy, (Mayor of Wexford 1753). The various branches of the Boxwell family in Ireland are directly descended from him, his sons being the forebears of the Lingstown/Hermitage/Cheshire/Millnock branch, the Sarshill/Abbeyleix branch and the Bulterstown branch. In 1993 descendants from all these branches can be identified, however there is a large family of Boxwells in Dublin for whom no connection yet been found.

He was married to Elizabeth HARVEY on 30 Mar 1732. Elizabeth HARVEY died in 1771 in Lingstown, County Wexford, Ireland. She was born in Bargy, County Wexford, Ireland. John BOXWELL and Elizabeth HARVEY had the following children:
