Baldwin FITZGILBERT died in 1090. Seigneur de Meules and du Sap in Normandy;
Lord of Okehampton, Devon. After the murder of his father he and his brother
Richard took refuge at the Court of the Count of Flanders. Duke William afterwards
retored, to Baldwin, Meules and Sap. He also received from the Conqueror some
160 lordships in Devon Hemington, Porlock, and Apley in Somerset and Iwerne in
Dorset. Okehampton was the capital seat of his barony. Sheriff of Devon 1080-1086.
