3772. James Higbee ⁽¹³⁵⁾ was born about 1759 in Jamaica, Queens, Long Island, New York. He died on 18 Apr 1853 in Orange Co., NY. James Higbee was born in the town of Jamaica, Queens County, Long Island, in 1752. He move d to Orange County, New York around 1777 and married Mary Jackson, who was born probably at F lorida, Orange County, on September 18, 1753. Mary was the daughter of Alexander Jackson Sr. , born in Ireland on June 12, 1729 and to Marth Drake, born April 15, 1732 in Goshen, Orang e County, New York. They settled in Orange County, probably near Chester. He was a member o f the State Militia, and served in the Revolutionary War in Capt. Sayer's company, Co. John H awthorn's Regiment, and was made sergeant. He died in April 1852 in Orange County, New York.
